Giant's new Seek youth road bike has been recognized with a Gold award at the Taipei Cycle d&i Awards 2026. The award, presented in partnership with iF Design, recognized the Seek as a genuine breakthrough in youth cycling.
In its statement, the Awards jury wrote: “Giant’s Seek is specially designed for young riders, striking a strong balance between specialized design and high-performance quality. By nurturing the next generation of cyclists, it supports industry growth and promotes a positive cycling culture — delivering a lasting impact on the future of the cycling community."
The accolade is the latest in a wave of praise that has greeted the Seek since its debut. Ride reviews have now come in from across the globe, and the verdict is consistent.
Adult Reviewers, Kid Testers
Cycling Weekly reviewer Neal Hunt put the Seek 1 through its paces with his eight-year-old daughter across multiple road and gravel outings. "The tube profiles are not ‘big bike’ tubes, cut shorter,” he wrote. “They are made in specific profiles for this bike, to suit the needs of smaller riders."
The real-world verdict came from the test rider herself. After a short settling-in period, Hunt wrote: "She was happily chatting as we cruised along, a sure sign she was comfortable and was enjoying the ride." Hunt also noted the drivetrain: "What is surprising and stands as one of the real highlights of this product is the TRP Vistar drivetrain. Finding electronic gears on a child’s bike is really something special."
Velo named the Seek one of the most notable new produces at Eurobike, and Escape Collective and Bikerumor both highlighted the depth of youth-specific thinking across the cockpit, drivetrain and geometry, which is the product of fit data that Giant has been collecting since 2008.
Big Hit with German Media
The Seek has been equally warmly received in Germany, where editor Jens Klötzer tested the bike across both bike-magazin.de and TOUR Magazine with three child testers. His conclusion left little room for debate:
"After testing with three children around 130cm, one can conclude that Giant gets a great many things right with the Seek,” he wrote. “The tailoring to smaller body dimensions is extremely well executed and currently unrivalled."
On what makes the Seek’s technology genuinely transformative for young riders, Klötzer wrote: "Hydraulic disc brakes, electronic shifting and lightweight carbon wheels were developed for adult racing cyclists but are ultimately an even greater blessing for children — the Seek definitely gives them a taste for more kilometers."
Rennrad-news.de captured the experience most simply through the words of a young test rider mid-climb: "Wow, how quickly and easily I can ride uphill with this! Why is it so easy?"
The publication’s summary verdict: "The Giant Seek youth road bike impresses in testing with its low weight, child-appropriate specification and ease of use."
The most recent test verdict comes from bike-x.de, whose March 2026 review praised the Seek’s electronic shifting and lightweight wheels as its standout strengths, also calling out its versatility:
"It delivers high directional stability for a strong sense of security at speed, and scores additional points for its versatility as a gravel bike."
